My abstractions refer to shapes or specific places in Nature. When I select and draw a shape, I use it for a series of prints on that theme. Each of the prints is a fragment of the experience of noticing, and I think of the prints as small autobiographies. I prefer direct and uncomplicated strategies of printmaking such as drypoint on copper and woodcut in birch plywood. I print my own plates. Typically each print is unique and marked accordingly 1/1.
